This is a call to everyone who thinks they have to rate something (especially speed, spin or control) and use the maximum rating of 10. If you want to know more, here for you the link to the blog, where this rubber was tested and is (in my opinion) truthfully assessed. Result: In conjunction with softer blades, the rubber is really fun and i must say, for a rubber with a 40 degree sponge, this rubber is really extraordinary. (- the basic speed was okay, but especially the very hard topsheet did not harmonize with my blade!!!) I have also tested this rubber on various other blades. The play feeling was too direct, not dynamic enough for me. Unfortunately, my (very hard) blade does not harmonize with this rubber. (- unfortunately this rubber turned out to be not as light as described in the test !!!) After testing this rubber with 1.9 mm sponge thickness, on my DHS Ma Long 5 replica, I bought it with 1.7 mm for my VH !!! I became aware of this rubber through a test in a table tennis blog. Weight uncut 59 g and 44 g cut on my off+ blade (160 x 152 mm). Rubber in black with 1,7 mm sponge, hardness 40 degree. The Hyped Hybrid is forgiving and hits hard.Update from 08/2019 (- because I recently played with this rubber again and it is really recommendable !!!) The price on this ball makes sit a steal. Summary: The Hyped Hybrid is another great looking ball. I am very happy with these balls and hope someone is thinking of a solid option later on. The Hypes are an easy choice when a bowler is looking for top notch performance at a great price on medium lane conditions. This ball is giving great results for many styles already. This ball fits above my Hustle Camo and just under my Trend 2. The Hyped Hybrid reads the lane a few feet sooner and is a bit less angular at the break point than the Pearl. Ball motion can be changed greatly by the bowler, surface adjustments and layouts. The only variable is the cover stock Roto Grip used. Keep in mind I am a lower rev player and I used the same layout and finish on both balls. I can stand at the same place and roll the same line and cover equal boards. I finally rolled the Hyped Pearl and Hyped Hybrid against each other on various shots and the results are in. Speed at release 17 Review: The new Hyped Hybrid is a great looking and nice rolling ball. Don't be shy of the colors in this ball - it is a WOLF in Sheep's clothing.īall Specs: Roto Grip Hyped Hybrid Hybrid Cover stock 1500 Grit Polished Hyped Symmetric Core Layout 4 x 4 w/ 2” pin buffer Bowler Specs: Right Hand. The ball for them ready all three parts of the lane really well and where they usually have to switch to a stronger ball in length in the 3rd game, they kept the Hyped Hybrid in their hands and felt very comfortable with just making small adjustments as the matches went on. The Hyped Hybrid looked really good for two other bowlers I have worked with that don't have a ton of speed, ( 12 to 13 mph off the lane), and more end over end. Will keep it at 3000 grit to use for league and practice at Colony Park Lanes being the middle ball, and having the UC3 as the weaker ball, and Idol Helios and RST X*2 for two stronger pieces. Adapted very well to the surface changes and held up through practice, testing and league. It was very versatile on both patterns and type of lane surfaces. I needed a hybrid with a little stronger pearl percentage and that was easy to change surface as needed. It created a better overall look then the Electrify Solid I drilled earlier in the season for there and not a "lengthy" as the UC2 and Zen I was trying to use there. Hitting it with 1500 grit before testing the ball was the best decision I made. The panels are super slick and the pattern is super juicy even with only being 44ft in length. Knowing in the past on the SPL house I bowl in that pearls are NOT the way to play in or around the track area. Roto Grip Hyped Hybrid - 60 x 1 1/2 x 55 - 1500 grit sanded on SPL THS and 2000 grit with polished Ball test conditions: Practiced on 44ft THS on SPL and 46ft THS on older HPL The HP2 line just got HYPED UP!!! Knowing Roto Grip King Pin "Schlem" was working a making the HP2 line stronger then ever, the Hyped Hybrid was going to be the first I drill between the Pearl and Hybrid.
